Second day - Noorni visit

29th July  - was Noorni visit.
Left home by 6.30 a.m with our escort Gopalan.  Saras was visiting the place after five decades. They were staying in a sprawling house called Rajaram Cottage in the centre of Noorni. The children were doing schooling there and Noorni was chosen as the place of stay since maternal grandparents and family were there while the father Shri. Krishnan had a extensive traveling job as a Burmashell manager.
Hence it was a nostalgic trip down the memory lane.
We first drove to the Shivan Kovil there. It was in tact as it was many many yrs back Then the famous Sastha Kovil where most of the `Noornites would have partake the sasthaprithi meal again a very famous festival with big procession ,puja and topping with a mega sumptuous food.

After that our visit was to Rajaram cottage. What a wonder. The house was intact as it was before. Presently not occupied. We did clicks in front of the house.

Then we visited two delightful people.
One Usha ( my sambathi  Savithris relation) who have settled in Noorni after service and retirement in metropolis. Now they are very happy with the life style where there is intimate contact with temple and village life style.
Next we visited  Suresh and Srikant who had come from Bangalore to Tirunalla village.
There house too ,belonging to Srikalas parents(no more) has been kept in its old set up. Again the question mark is how to preserve these old spots of ours which not only have memories but a strong ongoing cultural scene around them.

From there we moved to Malabaza dam. It was a sight to behold.

The heavy rains over the past days had filled up up the dam to the brim , it was like anytime they were planning to open up the dam to relieve the extra waters. Being Sunday there was a large crowd , people coming to see the sight of the dam . And we were one of them. It was a great sight to see the large volume of water and the rains threatening to pour anytime.

We then returned back home and settled to the comfort of the home as it was pouring rains after afternoon.
